I dont know what all is possible in PHP, but if there was a way to click a +1/-1 button on every post in "Critique & Ideas" only, it would allow people to show their support or lack thereof for an idea so that the only time an actual reply is posted is when someone can add to the conversation.

And kill iniciative for one to say "why they +1". I don't like the way where You kill any possible conversation with just +1 / -1 button

Functionality can be added in through extensions, but the devs don't want this. At least, that's what past comments have been.

A good idea will be implemented sooner or later, but such statistics are unlikely to be correct due to alternative accounts. And even with the right statistics, there will be suspicions and the assumption of inaccuracies.

For this it's more 'never'. That's at least what I hope, as +/- 1 can (and frequently, to always, is) gamed on every site that employs it.

yeah. jorb has gotten pretty good at keeping track of the good ideas and flagging bad ones over the years. Loftar, too. We're getting ready to find out if oceans are really good, or just looked good on paper. That's one that's been around as long as I've been playing.

but yeah, just take a look at the Steam reviews. It's why Epic isn't going with forums or player reviews on their site or launcher. it's just a horrible mess that can ruin good people.

Point taken. I just thought it would help to be able to signal support or lack of so the devs would be able to identify quickly and easily features the players really want vs ones they don't. Apparently, such a mechanic is one they don't want. I hope Jorb and Lothar are paying attention. More people hate this idea than love it and the huge majority don't give a ****

Oh it definitely doesn't work for reddit either. Reddit is just a giant, festering circlejerk and almost no subreddits have discussions because each subreddit is literally just dominated by the local circlejerk that downvote anything they dislike into oblivion.
