Which is why we have the 8 hour buffer. I agree it's a terrible thing, but using claims to grief is even worse, so I pick the lesser of two evils. I wish there were better solutions, but so far nobody has come up with one that is acceptable by the devs and players.

Early world some people are going to do bad things just because it's easy and they don't lose much if they get caught out.

In a new world (less than one month old), I've never been able to settle where I spawned at.

I agree that getting your claim smashed over and over day 1 sucks, but as said getting boxed in by troll claims and such 2 weeks in sucks more.

Totally wish there was a better way of defending your claim though.

Perhaps allow us to attack people on your own unactivated claim?

Also i got lucky and never had any vandals, but if someone had started trying to smash my claim my plan was to keep all the resources to rebuild the claim stake in my inventory. When they start smashing it, constantly push them around to slow them down and waste time. Once your claim hits 25% hp, rebuild the claim pole somewhere on the claimed area. Not sure if it works but it was my plan.

You have the choice of screwing over established players (vulnerable to being griefed by alts, we've seen this in the past) or screwing over new players (no alt abuse vs long term playerbase). It sucks, but many survival games choose to screw over beginners for this exact reason. They are helpless vs an established player to maintain long term game balance.

It's beginning of the world, people fight for space and domination. It's become easier overtime to not have claim bashed but now, consider changing place.

tbf if your getting ur claim destroyed ur playing the game wrong surround cliam in alts so they have to murder them too......
