Dont the bears deserve a chance to win too?

Surprised this wasn't a thread already as much as it's come up. Not sure it's of vital importance as would it really solve the issues? Any type of boat should be able to outpace a swimming land animal. The only thing this would do is hurt those trying to use a river to run away from said bear (or wolves, lynx, etc etc)
