Swamp Fever Removal

Remove Swamp Fever, it's WAY too punishing with the speed it increases.

At the very least make it so facemasks prevent it.

EDIT: Midges are already punishment enough for hanging out in swamps!

Could you give us a screenshot of the wound to show what it does?

I got 1 point on a swamp run, and by the time I had left I was at 8 points. Kinda sucks when swamps are so important in early game development.

This indeed sounds like a "make dedicated Swamp Trawling alts" -thing.

Easy fix, turn swimming on, you know what to do next.









I actually think swamp fever is dumb.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

If it's going to build damage quickly, it needs to heal over time at a decent rate. I don't know what the hell the point of it is, but the only thing I see it doing is causing players to make swamp alts for some damn candleberries.

so what do i do now? i supposed to kill 3 snakes, which give me 3 adder bites, which also grow over time, so eventually i'll log in dead.
the only option is to swim idk.
hard to be a hermit.
or playing without alts

I agree that some adjustment to the swamp fever need to be done. Mine's at 38, dropped a tiny bit at one point but then kept on raising.

Agreed, swamps are becoming too wound intensive. You need leeches to treat certain wounds, but the risk was that going to a swamp with a wound means you can get infected. Now you can ALSO get swamp fever, simply for just wanting to get a cure for a different wound. Swamps are becoming one big wound juggling act, and that doesn't seem like a great idea. At the very least, make the cure more accessible than adders.
