firefly lantern

I think it would be awesome if you could make stationary lanterns powered by fireflies. Perhaps you could put a very tiny tiny amount of food in it to keep the firefly alive, like only a single food unit consumed per 1 real life day.

It would definitely fit havens asthetic.

Yes, please. Big +1. It would/could be a real nice aesthetic light source.
Having to feed the firefly would make sure the lantern has some kind of upkeep (plus I'd think it would not give light in such a big radius as fires) so I believe it would really just be a cool thing for some aesthetic larping.

Why would they even need fuel? If you can't light fires etc with it I see no reason why it isn't eternal. Frankly, I see no reason why any lights have lifespan when they're aesthetic. Isn't that what made candles etc irrelevant in legacy even for cosmetics?

This. It should be an eternal light if it provides no benefits.

Either that or gives us a whole package of aesthetic items (lanterns, rugs, etc.) that gives a stackable and lasting (~1 hour) will buff when your character passes by them so even power gamers are inclined to make their industrious villages pretty.

Great idea, I was just thinking that we need more "naturey" substitutes for the metal, industrial type larpy items.

Would be cool for such a thing to have wood and leafy elements built in to it too

Maybe also a lamp stalk light item as well?

Irrlight lantern is kind of similar, but having a firefly lantern would be cute too
the proliferation of automation is the rot of this game, with the next worst thing being the filth that plays it (you, probably.)
