with the amount of metal used for the mine beam u couldve made 6 stone columns and 2 wooden supports :angry:

yeah but this is a small price you pay for getting to literally afk mine the entire radius and no matter how many cave-ins it cant break

good thing there are no situations that interrupt you while mining

I was always in favour of a 3rd support type that's specifically for creating straight line tunnels. Dunno how useful it'd be tbh. Rather than a circle, it could create a + shape instead.

Mini support for tunnels would be amazing. Some blocks and metal nuggets preferably. Small radius.

People would still use columns. You get the stone automatically by tunneling, so you only need to bring in some hard metal. Bringing in a large amount of wood (and continuously going back to fetch more) would be too much of a hassle to make that a more interesting option than columns.
