bad wound design: beesting, bird lung
reasons: neither are activities that really necessarily need to be punished, but aside from that bird lung has a hefty con penalty and beesting has an agi penalty (making fighters not able to do it) while progressively getting worse, and feed into allergic reaction
good wound design: quicksilver poisoning and bum burn
reasons: bum burn acts as a preventative measure for people trying to spam really good food, quicksilver adds risk/reward to extremely high end mechanics like felt and quicksilver globes (though imo you should be able to make glass without a risk of getting it)
neutral design: midges, nettle burn seal finger
reasons: midges are annoying and feed into allergic, but they heal so fast it can be kinda ignored. nettle burn is really nice early game for a survival boost, but also feeds into allergic and can sorta be ignored as it heals fast. seal gates some really good meat/hides/etc, and is easily curable by the time you handle those mobs
obviously there are more examples, but these are the sorts of things the devs need to look at when designing wounds. IMHO if beestings and bird lung went away quickly (i.e at the same pace as midge bites) i do not think they would be so bad.
