More like, that's how Google took over the web. Chromium-based browsers have an over 75% market share and as such Google dictates the standards for the web nowadays. It was Google who pushed for the 'warning everytime, no way to remember certificate' approach. The only consensus necessary for such decisions nowadays is a consensus at the Google offices.

Perhaps. But in the end - is such simplifaction a positive thing for average web user's security or not?

Funny. I've flagged the Seatribe cert as reliable in Firefox, and I've not had any issues.

Agree it's a Google issue. No one corporation or other entity should dictate this much of network standardization. Much like a dwindling gene pool, it leads to aberrations that are extremely dangerous to the survival of the body.

Anyone else remember when "Do no evil" was the mantra? Funny how when the founders decide to step down (got pushed out?), it disappears.
