CON gilds are actively harmful. Poor Borj.

Borj 200hhp, but Borj dream of beefcake boletes. Borj put on his Big Borj pants and now have 300hhp.

Borj fight Ratfol, but Ratfol have friends who sneaky bonk Borj. Ratfol use Murderous Rage, and Borj get 240hhp ouches. Borj sleepytime when Ratful steal his Big Borj pants. Borj now has 200hhp, but 240hhp ouches. Borj dead now.

Poor Borj. Borj should not have dreamed of beefcake boletes.

He didn't respond to it but it was also mixed in with some other info. He knows about it, anyways.

How do you fix it though?

Have HHP wounds grow/shrink with it? Putting on con gear before intentional wounds (opium, pipe wheeze, pepper) becomes a weird meta.

Have the HHP bonus gradually shrink after being removed? Possible meta for pvp is to wear con gear around and then flip to full pvp gilds for a fight?

Have the HHP bonus gradually shrink unless you put on other gear? One more obtuse and niche mechanic that someone will die to in 1.5 worlds and all the vets will go "of course it works like that, how didn't you know that?"

That's all I can think of at least.

If you go into HHP debt through buff/debuff shenanigans you're blessed with 1 HHP and nothing more. The only way to die should be through a 'hit'. Be it a midge, a nettle, a blessing from a crab, starvation tick, a bonking, etc.

Alternatively: CON gilds give a temporary SHP buff but add no HHP. Just an impromptu thought, and also has some pitfalls (like KO if you take off that ring and only have 1 shp?)

Otherwise, losing HP from loss of buffs shouldn't take away X HP, just lower the max, and if the character is over the new max HP, set current HP to max. Probably the wiser fix.

Instead con buff we could have shield and anti shield. Shield would work in such a way that when you have for example 50 shield and get 100 damage then you get 50 less shp damage and 50 shield damage, shields could be regenerating just like shp. Anti shield would work in such a way that ie if you get 100 damage and have 20 anti shield then you actually get 120 damag, but this bonus damage couldn't exceed for example double the original damage.
