Iceboxes

Constructable object, similar in function and appearance to a shed. Have a blue bar on the side that measures how much ice is currently still in the icebox (4 ice blocks or so to fill it, have it decay about as fast as ice does in cellars). Anything then put inside the icebox while it still contains ice in its fuel bar which has a decay process will be slowed significantly (carcasses, decaying foragables, potentially ageless ice/brimstone, more ice blocks lol). Give it liftable and object storage, just like sheds and probably an equal footprint, maybe larger if its deemed necessary for balance reasons.

This wonderful idea unfortunately lacks distinct goal. Could you kindly provide it and evaluate if it's really worth the hassle?
On first sight, how would partial decay prevention of renewable resources impact the game?
Where time is but a loop, a loose stitch in the Universal Cloth, a Streamer might seize upon a chance, a fatal slip - and plunge the fate of planets into chaos…

It allows you to plan further ahead with things:
* You can now prepare for stuff ahead of time with things like mandrake roots (increasing the viability of nidbanes potentially by them now not potentially even being possible during the active period of crime scents if you cant find any roots)
* Ageless Ice can become a real traded commodity because it has storage potential, adding another resource which could be gathered by hermits and be valuable to just about anyone at any level of play
* Carcasses can now be held onto, potentially creating another vector for trade of entire carcasses (credo sales to people who are desperate for an animal carcass for annoying quests they cant complete because of scarcity or a lack of ability to obtain those carcasses at their current level of play - low stat hermits can now actually buy a dead bear to skin if they get a credo quest to butcher/flay it and get over said hurdles)
* Etc, etc, etc.
* It really is that simple
