Nitpick: Cachalot tail flukes have no bones in reality

The most actively maintained Haven and Hearth Wiki (Not guaranteed to be up-to-date with all w14 changes.)

Basic Claim Safety (And what you’re doing wrong) (I recommend you read it in it's entirety, but TL:;DR: Build a Palisade.)

Combat Guide (Overview, PVE, PVP) (Tells you how to try and escape, and make it less likely to die when caught.)

Is H&H intention to be completely realistic?
If so, show me Troll skeleton.
On another note, that's such a small oversight in a game that has much larger issues than a problem which is equivalent to an spelling error.

Exactly why I started the title with "nitpick."

Huh, really... fascinating. All cartilage then, I assume?

That would make most sense. It's after all, just a tail; animals rarely go out and evolve new bones.

To be a devil's advocate, there's most likely better uses for development time than adjusting whale skeleton model.

I meant to mention this ages ago but only got reminded when I saw a whale butchering GIF in this thread.
