primitive water sources

Sometimes I spawn an island character for that sweet larping time, but then I realize there's no water except salt water

Since it's a survival game would be cool to have primitive water sources like:

Rain water: stumps and mirkwood logs would collect a few cups of rain water over time

Primitive distillation: salt water + some early game tech would generate some water cups over time

Plant based water: some foragable, bush or tree that when cut or split open would provide some life saving water

This would be much more effort than simply eating the cost of a randomly placed well.

Why not just drink from swamp?

Have you heard about these old civilizations of people who settle far from water sources but was able to get water from primitive distillation? Me neither.

That's just weird.

Just:
a) Build a still
b) Build a well

I'm a new character on a place with only salt water close by, it's not possible to work hard without drinking water.

It's mostly a larp thing now, but in a survival game could be cool to have small sources

by primitive distillation I meant evaporation water traps, not sure about the history side
