Usage of money for marketing would be the worst use of devs earnings I'm quite sure.

Devs have stated earlier anyways that they think that good game should spread from mouth to mouth.

Server cannot even handle more than 1k players at a time.

To be fair, you're one of the people they should fuck off out, so im down.

The bad player retention that Shubla speaks of, I think, is not something we can or should generalize on. It seems from evidence that the game as it is at world start has bad retention, yes, but who is to say that the game in a mature world would have equally bad retention? We've never had an injection of players into a mature world so we can't know.

Here's my next thought: if word of mouth is where Jorb wants players to be drawn from, then is this another way of saying 'advertising' of the game is acceptable to him if it is done by people other than seatribe et al? I don't think he'd classify me telling my friends about the game as advertising, but what about me posting to my social media about it? What about me shouting about it from a megaphone in city square? What about me promoting my own posts on social media by paying for them? Is the line expense based? If I spend $10 on an instagram campaign of an unofficial H&H-themed account, is that crossing a line for Seatribe? Or am I simply being passionate about my word-of-mouth campaign?
i guess they never miss huh

What I mind is mass distribution of unsolicited "cold-calls". I do not mind the soycial media as much, because following us there, and seeing our stuff there, is mostly under your control.

Release the game on Steam / Epic Games

Postby Blooberry » Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:34 am

First of all, I absolutely adore H&H. I've been playing this game since 2010 on various accounts and I really want to see the game succeed.

To that end, I want to see the game reach a broader audience and thus I want the game released on Steam (early access or a regular release would be fine, either / or works). I'd also love to see this game released on Epic Games. '

Who's with me?

a tidal wave of normies never ends well for niche games but it would probably stay niche, just more populous.

Haven wouldn't be bothered by normies, they will die.
