Respawning of flora and fauna

It is currently based on un-loading and re-loading the map.
This is very stupid.
Respawning rate should not be dependent on that, animals and plants should respawn regardless of whether the map is loaded or not.
Of course, maybe not appear into the screen from nothingness, if there is a player nearby, but if its outside of view distance it should be enough.

Not sure about technical details, but something like spawning new things every time when a new part of map is sent to the player view distance sounds good.

There need to be done smth with animal respawn. Sometimes you can walk around for a lot of time looking for a bear, and don't find one. I don't even mention bots for cave angler

Yeah I think the only reason it's like this is because of the technical side.

It would probably require the entire map to be loaded 24/7 for that to happen, which would just straight up kill the server.

I of course cannot know any technical details with certainty. But I am very doubtful that something like this is too difficult to do server side.

I wish I knew them though. Not for copying or such, but just for general interest it would be very cool to see how game like hnh works behind the scenes.
I often think how things may be implemented, but in the end there are too many ways to do everything so its very difficult to deduce what the system could be like.

theres nothing wrong with how it works rn. the map is fucking huge if someone is competing with you for a spot kill them or move away.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

noone said it's not ok right now but with more player density it would be fucking aids, I think the game should be set up in a way that it could handle 1k+++ players and it's just about server power to handle more player and not about a weakness in the core of the game.
I think wow classic had a decent system and open world pvp regarding foragables respawn timers were random within a range and also the nodes respawned in sort of random location per map (maybe could be x amount per forageables per thingwall in hnh)

For the Anglers I was thinking some sort of "population" counter that is stored permanently server-side, as long as there is "population" in certain underground water area, there will always be at least one Angler available. This could result in a race to hunt them into extinction though, possibly invading other people's caves to steal theirs.

Dividing world into (quite small) regions, having some timer for each of them, then when area is loaded we would update timer to current time and spawn curios based on their spawn % multiplied by min(c, time since last timestamp)/c or something like this.
