Gently adjust decay (nerf)

Decay is good and gives the game a lot of its character, but it feels a little heavy handed from an active player. Maybe slightly less hard hitting?
i guess they never miss huh

Please give an example; I feel like the amount of abandoned places ready to loot is about right. How long should it be?

I wish decay actually meant claims breaking faster when someone quits rather than my cupboard turning from wood to paper the second I place it outside.

for example, decrease the amount of damage done by decay hits, so that they hit for smaller amounts each time, but hit more frequently than currently, but not so much as to decay things faster than they currently do, but instead the opposite: make things decay slightly slower, and more frequently, but more gently.

I fear It would be more demanding on the server that way ... Probably it's why It Is like It Is.
