Early anvil + smithy's hammer

With hard metal now being locked behind a 7-day wait and a minehole, early metal is extremely limited. Not only does soft metal have limited uses, over half of those uses require an anvil + hammer...which remains locked until layer 2. Once people do have bronze, everything gets unlocked at the same time - all the soft metal crafting, all the hard metal crafting, sausage making and glassblowing. Possibly wrought and steel as well if iron exists on layer 1 or 2. It would be nice if we could get some inferior anvil stand-in (which halves the quality or something?) so we can at least do our soft metal crafting with our soft metal and start with glassmaking.

Just commit to suggesting removing the mechanic. This is an egregious half measure.

There are some edge cases where we should have early alternatives, but the anvil is not one of them, that is the gimmick of the world.

I like the bumfights, either we get metal or we don't.

I feel like that sums things up for me well.

Compromises like the tinker shovel are a better way to handle it.

But in this case, it's about soft metal items that are proper at the soft metal level...but simply cannot be crafted until you also have hard metal because of the anvil requirement.
