Hey Gurni, this game is not easy. It is very specific on that it is a full-loot PVP game. Just like in real life, you cannot trust all strangers to enter your home, especially if they look like they're capable of killing you. Once they get past your walls, you are quite literally at their mercy.
But, it's not over unless you really want it to be. You can remake your character and inherit some of his ancestor's stats which would give you a little bit of a boost to get started again. As your progress in the game, you unlock even more opportunities to preserve your stats, and eventually dying outside of your walls turns into a minor inconvenience. But yeah, never let anyone past your palisade unless you trust them. It's only common sense. Make sure all of your gates and houses are locked, keep the master key inside, only leave your base with a slave key (Can only open a gate to leave, can't open it from the other side) and you would be almost invulnerable from other players. That's pretty much all that us older players do to stay safe.
And yeah, the player count drops every world. Eventually it settles around 100-200 players at a time (about a year and a half) and then the world gets reset, and then there's suddenly 1400 players again. I don't think most people quit because they get killed, I think they quit because they get bored and want to wait for the next world reset.
Also Zentetsuken, if you don't like the game then don't play it lol. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. Why would you try to drive people away from something you enjoy?
