as someone so experienced you should have learned already this has close to zero chance of happening, instead of attacking me for 2 posts consecutive

your reasons for opposing were more like a knee-jerk of superiority, I dont get it really, I made some potions and yea I'm not the best, but I don't see how making it non-universal is that bad... and you made an unintelligible case for it

the technical issues only loftar knows, but you probably wrong to assume generating a key for every char with alchemy is so difficult... youre also probably wrong to assume ingredients should be replicated by the number of chars, thats not how it goes with databases, usually

more importantly you're wrong to get so upset, because as an old player myself, I'll let you know these suggestions won't happen before a nuclear war or something

This thread is clearly an attempt to turn alchemy into casino-rolling alts for useful potions made from spammable stones. And this is morally correct, signed.

I am superior to everyone that makes bad suggestions on these forums. I know this because my first post was a request for bridges.

I do hate that alchemy is completely trivialized with a couple weeks of work by one dedicated person. If anything, I'd tie it to alchemy recipes are unique per village since that allows people working together ease of sharing information and avoids alt abuse (alchemy pots are not meaningful enough to make dummy villages for).

But I don't really think either of this or the original post are good ideas. Nor do I think that they would really fix what's wrong. The problem with alchemy lies in the fact that information trivializes it. Cooking's similar, but you still have to get the power ingredients once you know they're good. Alchemy you learn that rubbing your belly button flint with a rock makes the elixir of immortality. Slight differences there.

Sadly I think the way to improve alchemy requires a redesign of the system. More "Creating the elixir I want", less "I can only really make an elixir that at best mimics the properties of a natural ingredient". Keep ingredient cataloguing the same (or heck, make it easier somehow like creating an ingame tool/workstation that helps the process), but much more processing/effort in the creation of an elixir players would actually drink. Creation/discovery of the right effects => easy, reducing the damage so you'd want to drink it => effort.

That said? It's a lot of work to fix a system very few people want to touch.

Just remove alchemy tbh. Did anyone ask for this feature or finds it fun except for some spruce cap locked larper?

Anything that makes healing wounds faster is worth keeping in the game from a "net positive" aspect. Alchemy trivialized some very annoying wounds.

Cooking is the most godawful boring task. Crafting every possible combination of shit with random results per ingredients and spreadsheeting the results if you want peak stat gains is not my idea of fun. I wish it was more like alchemy, at least with consistent stat gains from spices compared to meals. Source: I'm trying to feed what's left of my village, and feed them well.
