Afaik the only thing people make mass fires for is Spitroasting and even that a) isn’t so necessary with this world’s dramatic spitspeed increase and b) wouldnt be helped by your suggestion

I'd rather they just add an intermediately sized fire between a fireplace and a bonfire

They have increased the speed of the spitroast, it makes sense to also increase the space ... why does it only have to be 2x2? when the kiln is 5x5? 3x3 would be perfect in the middle.

And also, as usual, I am not interested in your delusions of efficiency, I like the campfire, as in reality.

Realistically if you know what you're doing you never even bother with the firepit coals at all. Why not give the nabs some compassion, the kiln trick is not at all obvious.

You can't roast chestnuts in a kiln though.

if you don’t care about efficiency, what’s the problem with having to build more campfires? You seem to like them, so more fires=more good
