This has always been missing in HnH. We have had scents and blood traces, running and fighting animals. Yet no age old method for hunting used since ancient times.
It's simple, player builds trap that is visible but may not be so much to the unaware eye.
Such as: Bear trap, spiked pitfall, Boulder or giant log hitting target on the head or simply binding a rope between two objects or trees to have someone trip over it.
If player walks in: Big ouchie at the spot and the trap is consumed.
If animal walks in: Big ouchie to the animal and the trap is consumed.
The issue of how to lure a target into the trap be left to the hunter. Anyone ought to be able to simply destroy traps and occasionally sometimes when falling for one, the trap simply malfunctions with no or lessened effect.
Geostrategically, this seems a relevant idea too. I will make a separate post for that.
