- Create Blood phials out of blood, from which to draw power for the transformation and the future sight.
- Summon temporary skeleton mobs out of bone, bone ash and a dark effigy to join your party and fight at your side for 300 seconds or at the latest until daytime comes around (whose power scales with dexterity).
- Dryads and Ents become hostile creatures to you.

I don't know about all that, but I have since before made a note to implement blood as a liquid for blood foods.

Blood bread and Blood cake recipes!

Though I am terrified of the barrels of blood as a possible implication of this suggestion. Both blood bread and blood cake could be reasonably implemented with entrails I think, if not as clear - similar to Liver & onions.
