Charred logs

Postby Over10n » Sun Apr 05, 2026 8:26 pm

Hello, I would like to propose the following innovation:

Make it possible to burn tree logs by lighting them with a torch, with two options: if you extinguish the torch after a certain amount of time, the log turns into a charred log; if you do not extinguish the torch after an arbitrary amount of time, the log burns and disappears. When I was learning the game's mechanics, I encountered a horrifying clutter of unnecessary logs of wood that had accumulated from clearing the surrounding area when building the base and from constantly growing the garden (Growing the garden to improve its quality creates a large amount of unnecessary wood).

Introducing this mechanic would have made it easier for players to clean up their territories without unnecessary difficulties.

It looks more like a way to burn someone else's wood supply. But your idea has inspired me to improve on the idea of quickly creating charcoal without using a tar kiln. Thank you!

Take a look at this topic. It also partially aligns with your proposal. This will prevent undesirable people from quickly destroying wood reserves, while allowing them to get rid of unwanted stockpiles in a useful way.
Yes, it's easy for those who want to destroy stockpiles to simply destroy them. And although wood quickly disappears from the floor, there's still the opportunity to reassemble it before it's gone. Burning it will eliminate this opportunity.
