- entirely disable hunger regen from questing/salt OR disable it for anybody within ~20% of top stat (20% might even be too little, tbh, as miners will kinda ruin the curve)
- Scale minimum hunger much lower than 33%, possibly to 0%
- probably decrease the hunger all foods give to like 10% or 20% of what it currently does, as with power crept food it doesn't take much get to 33% hunger, which eating at will be the new meta if you get there instantly from like 1 cb of pickled bullshit <-- this would be the primary lever by which you can control how grindy FEPs are. If people are getting too far ahead, or complaining about the grind, increase the hunger everything gives. Raise it for opposite effect.
- Bee bread should prolly have its hunger scaled to its FEPs as with other foods, OR just give non-combat feps
- The hardness of rocks should probably be reduced if hunger per food is not significantly decreased to account for slower stat gain on miners
- ideally there should be a system by which eating foods that raise your lower stats don't fuck your hunger. For example raising anything other than str/agi/con as a fighter rn is basically wasted hunger, which isn't ideal - but it's probably not easy to fix, so I'm not going to talk about it much. Maybe food only gives hunger for FEPs it gives that are within 10% of your highest stat, or similar. Too lazy to think if that's abusable tho, prolly is
- matters less than the previous points, but I personally think symbel quality should only scale wear to make it easier to balance FEPs/desirable quantity of food to eat. Right now because symbel is bad you only want to eat a little, but in 4 months symbel will be highQ so you will be able to eat vast amounts. There should be a roughly static/"""intended""" maximum amount to eat that doesn't change arbitrarily with quality. This also gives players the option to choose either high FEP symbel if they don't plan to eat much, or high hunger reduction symbel if they plan to eat a lot, which if balanced right could be an additional 'catch up' mechanic for small eaters
- similarly, I think symbel's effectiveness should probably not scale with its durability % as it leads to unfun micromanagement
- Also unrelated and not overly important, but I think satiations should be removed. Hunger should be the only lever to control how fast stats can be gained. I should be able to eat whatever food I enjoy making, not forced variety. It is also a deceptively big buff to large groups, as the primary time investment that goes into making 10 of 10 kinds of food instead of 100 of 1 kind of food is setting up industry to make the food, when 100 people can use the same ovens, etc
