Just walking around doing a bit of crops and seeds management.
Including a few [Alt-i](Show info) uses. (which I normally never used so far)

No idea what could have caused this. Does it repeat or was an one off?

So far it was a one off case. (if its somehow related to toggling "Show info" it probably remains super rare.)

This may already been answered, but im running Linux (PoP Os 22.04) and whenever i download the luncher i download a .rar file, how do i execute it?

Sound like the ".jar" extension is auto chanced into ".rar" when you download it.
Changing ".rar" back to ".jar" should allow it to executed by Java. (provides java is properly installed on your system ofc)
