Is there any way to cause the indicator to re-appear on bugged quests? I let one sit during a lot of the recent changes, and now I do not have a directional for that tree, so I have no idea where to start looking for it.
In some other cases, I did get the indicator again when I got near different questgivers, but for this particular one, I've never met the tree in question.

This is exactly the issue I was talking about actually. When your missing your icon like on the map, you also miss your pie slice when prospecting. My guess is that there might be an issue related with sprites and overlays but what is causing it I do not know. Relogging doesn't always fix it either. Like for instance, if you are in a level 1 cave and this bug happens, it will continuously happen until you go into a building or change layers.

Have not been able to track the exact cause but I know it has been happening since two previous Ender versions but not the version before. So my guess is that either default has an issue or Ender does. But seeing this post, it looks like it may be a default issue.

Definitely noticed it myself on a none Ender client ealier today and have heard rumors of others having it, so it seems to be in default, weirdly enough exiting a rowboat seemed to fix it at the time.

Have you tried to check in vanilla client? Can you see this mark there?

General settings -> Warning settings
And
Display settings -> show gob info

Beta client updated:
  • added detection of empty/ready drying racks when gob info is turned on
  • added option to always show current combat target
  • made main menu buttons (inventory and the like) capture keys even if invisible
  • added audio buffer size to options
  • added gems to radar
  • added gems to list of stuff to warn about
  • added option (Options->General) to only pickup items with enabled minimap icons
  • bumped maximum auto-pickup radius to 32 tiles

There's currently no custom object radii. So unless default client has radius for mineholes, this one does not for now. But adding custom radii to objects is on the list.
