same the tiles i went thru after the update turned into fog again and the province button is unclickable.

Due to the fact that there seems to be a "In game map doesn't handle multiple client well" issue with the vanilla client, that potentially can result in lost (per session) map-tiles.
...
Its wise to include information about using only a single active client, or multiple active clients (add potential new data on that last case in linked topic).

The same issue. Yesterday exploration lost in fog. I was using single Ender client.

There's an issue with this in all the clients. I believe it is related to certain settings and graphics devices or drivers. I've lost track of the thread at the moment, but I'll see if I can dig it up later.

Is there a way to play on a specific version of the client? I'd rather play on latest (not beta, the one before the revert) since I didn't have any issues there.

I've pushed fix for yesterday's freezes to beta branch. I encourage anyone who got freezes yesterday to try it out and report if this works or not.

Current beta version is what was yesterday on regular + freeze fix + small change to how hitboxes are toggled. If people confirm that fix worked, I'll push this to regular later today.

As for missing minimaps - new client version bumped version of map cache files (loftar's change to show province overlay), so any maps saved on new client won't be seen on old one. But they are still there and should return when you run new version.

I can personally confirm this, mapped a whole cave system before the revert, it was gone after the revert, switching to beta showed it again. There's no actual loss of data.

I keep getting this, specifically on turtles:
Weird version number on gfx/invobjs/bogturtle (65535 > 1)

Any way to fix it? Preferably without deleting the whole cache folder

beta client has fix for this. So unless you are already using it switching to it should fix the problem.

Awesome, thanks. What about the bug where icons don't appear on the minimap on login? Is that a default client issue?
