Considering its like 5am in Finland when you wrote that, he is probably sleeping, you have to wait on Shubla to update the client. Be patient Padawan, and use another client until then, it takes all of like 30 seconds to download 45mb.

as do i, received it with a rangers cape and a thanes ring, so i dont believe it matters which item.

I think I've got the same issue as above. Everytime I try to equip an item (via the quick hand slot) I get this:
