Download the zip, extract it somewhere, then copy all files to client directory overwriting any existing files.

For some reason, my client displays this but the buttons and stuff only respond when I click in the places they used to be (in the middle somewhere). Not sure what is causing it. I have restarted the client and my computer.

Try to un-maximize the window and perhaps resize it a bit and then maximize again.

Yeah, I tried that too, but it keeps the ratio still.

What happens if you run :sz 1024 768 console command?

That just changes the window size and size of the square of graphics. It is still stuck in the bottom corner with the feedback from mouse clicks registering in the entire window.

EDIT: Well it's fixed now, not sure what quite happened. But after several restarts and relaunching the client over and over again, it is now fixed.
