Postby Thedrah » Wed Mar 30, 2016 3:16 pm

soo anyone got an always online server that could run hafen and i could access it through something like team viewer or maybe browser
fps isn't really important. so i can play farmville on a computer that has an old graphics card (shaders). maybe on the phone too

home computer doesn't work cause internet is pdanet (requires phone) and dish (really low bandwidth)

This does not seem like a service another will be willing to do to you for a free price.

I think you could probably set this up by yourself with some hosting service already existing. I do not think that some Haven specific solution can be needed.

I doubt anyone wants to give that for free. Especially as haven uses quite lot of resources.

If you're using pdanet free program you can't access https anyways AFAIK (even with FoxFi) ... i'd look for a different (free) usb wired tethering solution to connect PC (with client) and phone by USB...

or

Have you tried a 3G/4G (UMTS/LTE) solution like an USB stick on your PC ? I've been playing Legacy long time with that and prepaid just 20€ for 5GB month - bandwith and volume was always easy ... (sure it depends on how 3G/4G is well setup in your area)

The problem is that you will need to find a server having at least some sort of adequate GPU, which might be tricky since most cheap options use either a CPU without any decent iGPUs or discrete graphics cards for that matter (those with discrete card are usually aimed at data crunching/scientific market and are very costly). Also in case of virtualization there might be plethora of other issues related to GPUs which needs to be considered. However, I haven't looked into this market ever before so perhaps there are some affordable niche providers for that...

Also i guess with a remote connection there's even more traffic involved (need for more bandwith) than connecting direct to the game server - i guess it doesn't run in a terminal ;)
