Apricot is a client based on the Hurricane client. The main reason it exists is Cookbook integration, which Hurricane doesn't have, but the goal is bigger than that: faster patches, more player suggestions actually making it into the client, and general convenience. Mapping service integration is planned next. If you have suggestions, post here or in the Discord and I'll see what I can do.
Fair warning on the long term plan: the current client is a heavily modified fork, and I intend to rewrite it with a cleaner design down the road. Apricot as it stands is the fix until that rewrite is ready. It's fully usable and maintained in the meantime, and the rewrite will be a drop in replacement when it comes.
Features
- Integration with the public Cookbook: https://cookbook.kittenrider.com/
- Everything Hurricane has, kept up to date with it
- Faster patches, and suggestions are welcome
- Crashes get reported straight to me automatically (stack trace and system info), so bugs get fixed without anyone having to file them
- Launcher that installs the client and updates it automatically
- Java 25 included, nothing else to install
- Coming from Hurricane? Your keybinds and settings carry over automatically
