There is a case to be made that the iconographic depiction of chickens is white chickens laying white eggs. Even though that's not necessarily the case IRL, it might make for easier to read GFX.

Also, eggs are more of a tan color. But animals adapt to their biomes and such. Whos to say that this land doesn't have chickens whos genetics make them lay white eggs. Unless the egg whitening happens from a industrial process.
