Harvesting trees no longer gives lp. ok, i can understand that. dont want spammed deforestation.

Rare curios can be found from cutting boards/stumping.

wait...so wont people just do this again for the rare curios?

so now we lose lp from building and doing usefull things, but we gain it less efficiently from doing the same destructive behavior as before. Way to fucking go.

Truth. This new system doesn't fix destructive behavior at all - it only encourages it. Even with griefing. If I put down a crate of curios, I'm most definitely going to get robbed while I try to get enough LP to even LEARN yeomanry so I can protect them.

You will be robbed of the things in your mind! Yes! Your brain is no longer safe from alien mind beams!

....

Geezus people. Stop spamming cone cows already.

And the tree root curio is rare enough that if nothing else, its an inefficient way to earn LP compared to exploring, raiding ant hills, picking dandelions, or hell, being productive.

This could be the case, except for the fact that there are better, more guaranteed curiosities in existence, so why cut down trees when you can do x or y or z?

I don't think too many people will spend a lot of time deforesting to get interesting wood shavings. I can't say for sure. But you can cut down an awful lot of hard to replace trees without finding that interesting curl of wood shaving. In the same time you can definitely find an awful lot of renewable dandelions, ants, cone cow materials, wishbones, doll materials, toy boat materials and so on if you decide to look for them instead. And while you are out hunting for the dandelions you get to explore, interact with people, hunt, forage, get savaged by wild beasts and do all the other fun stuff that you don't get to do while wearily leaving a trail of lumber behind you.

I suppose the deforestation will depend upon the bot makers in this world. We'll have to wait and see.
