Small Suggestion on Murder Consequence

I'm pretty new to this, so unsure if my idea already exists- haven't heard of anything like it though so here goes.

I've been senselessly slaughtered twice now (almost made me give up on the game, as I hadn't even had a chance to build defenses or develop even basic combat skills)

It made me wonder, what's the consequence for their character? seems like nothing, I wasn't advanced enough to track them, and was dead anyhow.

what If killing defenseless people lowered your learning bonus, or charisma? kill too many **defenseless/unarmed** people and you could develop Stink of a Murderer(or something similar) to people advanced enough to pick up on it anytime they saw you- effectively making you a marked man.

something like this exist? if not I think it could be a good idea.. Marked men/women could drop an identifying ear or something when killed, so towns could effectively pay any wandering ranger for ears and rest assured their area was just a little bit safer- or even to collect on specific bounties.

Murder scents have been enough to dissuade people in the past. The issue is that there aren't any roving rangers at the moment with how new the world is. You can usually hire rangers fairly cheaply or get help for free. Your best bet, as a newbie, to getting revenge is to make friends. Connections make the world go round =)

how exactly is the term "defenseless/unarmed" defined in your example? let's say my character has only developed vandalism, and no combat skill. am i still considered defenseless if i use my vandal skill to put a gate on top of yours?

what if i destroy your boat while you're fishing, and you drown? (keeping in mind that this takes no combat skill or criminal skills to accomplish - it doesn't even generate a scent)

what if i have a claimed clay node, and you dig there, leaving a vandalism scent in the process, which i use to summon kill you?

in other words, there are many terrible things that a character can do to another which require no combat skills. this is a bit similar to the frequently made suggestion "if i have no criminal skills, i shouldn't be able to be murdered". the game does not differentiate between what is considered a "justified kill" and what isn't, only the players can decide that.

If you get murdered, then just find out where they live and grief the hell out of them with alts. No skills need at all.
