if you wet charcoal you get...mush? not sure what you'd call it but you wouldn't be able to light it later(possibly ever again) and would have to clean out the kiln/smelter before using it again.

takes 3 seconds to see how much charcoal something takes on the wiki 4 for smelter 2 for finery forge...bricks you can burn 2 loads of clay from 1 if you catch it at mid tick. your idea fixes nothing, adresses no problems, and even sounds weird. I say no.

what do we do when J&L finally fix that bug? I think this idea of being able to save fuel would be one of those, "nice to have, but not necessary". since I wouldn't have to worry about having to refuel my kiln's and smelters every single time I want use them, but that's just being lazy.

if you can think of a way to put out a fire that doesn't leave the burning bits unusable for another fire suggest it, and I'll tell you why its just a waste of programming time since there are so many other great things that need to be added
