New black skills: Animal theft in style

new options when dealing with tamed animals, with rope equipped and criminal enabled. To use these options you must have decent str*con depending on the animal.

Tip: requires vandalism
stuns the animal allowing you time to hogtie it, the more str you have the longer it is stunned. tipping a cow reduces milk production and quality for several days and regens over time.

Hogtie: requires vandalism
lets you bind the beast and uses more stamina if you have low str*con.

Hoist: requires theft
allows you to pick up the beast and you drain stamina based on str*con while moving. Also increases agi necessary to teleport (significantly).

this also allows for cow tipping and boar hoisting competitions, cause real men cross rivers while carrying swine.

While cool ideas, what does Hogtie do? What's the point of tipping an animal versus just stealing it or slaughtering it? I also feel that the primary stats should shy away from str and con as they are heavily used in every other formula in the game. It might be more realistic to tie INT or DEX or PSY into the formula to indicate that what you're doing isn't just a matter of brawn but also a matter of wits and knowing how to coerce the animal properly and hold it well. After all, it's more than just a matter of holding them, you have to deal with them squirming and fighting against you.

fuck whats "needed" last time I checked, adding fun stuff to games makes games fun.

To adress the need of such a system, it allows people with high level stats to take home live animals after a raid. It should require mid-high level str con and agi so that using the skills for taming isn't likely, you should have animals by the time your stats are this high. I am thinking somewhere int he realm of 200 str and con, maybe more. Maybe it should require 100 or so agi minimum to port to HF or idol even if you have no HF to port to.

hogtie is for when the animal comes out of stun. if its not tied up it will fuck you up, so before you can hoist it must be tied. maybe require some other stats such as int (thanks to that guy) to determine how well the rope is tied and the chance of the beast to break free, fucking you up in the process.

The point of tipping it is to stun it, long enough to tie it up, also cause it would provide some novelty and fun. Due to the way that tipping a cow messes with milk quality and quantity maybe you can stress the cows and mess up someones milk production. Repeated tipping might make a cow lame and prevent it from being usable to draw wagons too.

equip a rope and 'leash' to take home a live animal thats already tamed if you can get to it...

I do like the cow tipping part, makes me wonder if you could also tip an auroch though. if you don't need vandalism to do it on unclaimed land I see a bunch of noobs getting stampeded

I'd totally rustle up some cattle. It's always a shame killing the livestock when its too far to raft them back, especially if it's a big village with better animals than your own. I'd gladly take the best couple milk producing cows over my share of curios after a raid.

In my opinion domestic cattle and taming need a serious overhaul in this system and whatever new system that should arise so it doesn't hurt to discuss possibilities for that. Especially mechanics that should make the entire process more fun and engaging.
