If you are experiencing lag spikes (fix)

Postby Korvis » Mon May 28, 2012 9:02 am

ok, this definitelly worked for me. im brand new to the game... but i remembered, on minecraft, there is a .. bug... that prevents the game from running smoothly on certain dual or multicore processors. so what you have to do is...

step 0: run the game
step 1: ctrl+alt+delete into your task manager.
step 2: go to your processes
step 3: right click "javaw" and click affinity.
step 4: disable all cores except for one. (i use 'core 0' or, '0')
step 5: right click javaw again, and mouseover "priority" then hit "high".

you will have to repeat this process every time you start up the game.

now, im not saying this will work for everybody, but it DID work for me. please let me know if it works for you, and if so, maybe we can get it stickied, or the developer can figure out a work-around based on this new info. (like i said, im new, so maybe this has been suggested in the past?)

edit::
seems it doesent fix it 100%, upon further play... but it does help alot.

Also: If you are using Windows Vista or 7, same process and kill dwm.exe. you have to stop it twice for it to go away, it causes massive stuttering and lag for me.

In this thread we improve how the server handles data by modifying the client's behavior.

I'm guessing you've never heard of FPS lag.

I've personally never experienced any lag / loading times / delays in sounds when playing in a relatively new pc (Athlon x3, 4gb ram, GTX 580).

So because the next guy pc's vcard is 2slow4sprites, he is willing to share his opinion.

That's not the game's fault, it's yours for having bad hardware / your OS fucking with you.

Wikipedia wrote:The most common use regards online gaming when the game doesn't respond in sync with the player's controls, usually due to a slow internet connection, server latency or overworked hardware.

Lag is also often used in reference to video games to describe to the delay (or latency) between an action by a player and the reaction of the game

I'd continue to point out what a moron you are as others already have but you're just the type to not ....get it. Just trust that you aren't making any friends with your snide little contribution to this thread nor do you have a grasp of the functioning of PC's beyond what you read on Wikipedia. In short? STFU and Fuck off.....

"That's not the game's fault" Who stated anything about fault you little prick? I merely pointed out that I get lots of stuttering and rubber banding when dwm is running and that as soon as I remove the process, it ceases. Cause + fucking effect. Also? I run Skyrim at full settings so yeah, my hardware is just fine.
