Believe you can lock all invetory, but been a while, so I might be wrong on that.

Not that I know of. I play fairly regularly and the only lock option is for the Study window, and the tool bars I believe. But I don't use the toolbars so I'm unsure of that.

Yeh, say you can shift+right click to highlight items you'd like to keep in your inventory or inside the cupboard when scrolling in items or out items.

I also like the idea of warning message before you drop something, have them so they only appear when on rivers or dropping something that cannot be retrieved on the ground?

It would take away an aspect of realism, though. You drop things in real life sometimes too.
