It's not for donations.
And I've met a lot of new players (been one too, obviously) most of them want to be a "fighter" or a "killer".
Those who want to be a farmer develop themselves even more.
Back on topic, though.
I don't dislike the idea because I'm used to hardcore mode.
I never wanted softcore because I simply don't like having no point in the game.
In games with a softcore mode, it's pure grind, no danger, makes the game a chore rather than a fun time.
In games with a hardcore mode you become competitive, watch out all the time, learn how to fight back, etc.
It's simply more fun to most of the people.

Most of the people, because the ones that it wasn't fun for already left (20x more people that are still playing). Either way, it would be a good investment, and that's why I'm saying they would lose little to nothing to give it a try. They might enjoy it, they might not. There could be other PvE things in the softcore server to make a better endgame for them(since PvP's endgame is well.. PvP.)

You're right, in most games you don't. However this isn't like most games. It's permanent death, therefore you lose everything on death. So it'd be much easier to accept defeat and not want to quit HnH if there was a reason, and you weren't just getting bullied.

Your point is :
I got killed by a raider and lose 10m LP char.
Raider have a reason.
I am happy and I would never think of rage quit.

Well what would the raider's reason be?

(Actually, I'd love to continue this conversation but I'm exhausted so I'll see you guys tomorrow.)

plain wrong! Most of the ppl are into having fun - interacting and socialising with others ...

Just because all of you "Not good enough to own in CoD, Battlefield, CS, WOW or whatever" and " go play Farmville" guys are more loudmouthing than others it doesn't mean you're the "most" ... the point is " fear of being harmed" is intrinsic for HnH - but it just got really perverted by all you epensing ppl ... that's why "most" of the playerbase would love to have a "perverts (win + harm by all meanings)" free server (while i'm aware that it's prolly not the Devs intention)

I don't like CoD, Battlefield, or WoW...?
Where are you pulling these?
I don't win+harm by all meanings. I help when I see someone, I befriend, etc.
I'm just saying I understand those who don't.
"Into having fun" you think raiders aren't into having fun?
I like interacting and socializing as much as I like raiding douchebags.
Because it's fun.
The latter even gives me some loot.

(like if someone is KO'd you right-click him, press "Lift", it sends him a request, if he accepts you walk to him and lift him)
Would make capturing people cool. "Wanna die? No? THEN ACCEPT."

This thread breaks so many rules I'm tempted to give the OP a probation. Locked. Please read the stickies next time. Requesting pvp removal was old two years ago.

Familiarise yourself with any previous discussion
Do a quick search to see if there are existing threads with similar ideas, and make certain your idea hasn't been shot down before with good reason. You can borrow from past suggestions to improve your own thread or bump them if they haven't played out yet.
1. Read Before Posting
  • Read the stickies, read the wiki, read the titles of threads in the first page or two of the subforum to see if there is already an answer to your question, or if your idea has already been suggested
  • Don't forget about the search function! Threads that ask a question that has been answered in the wiki or another recent thread, or threads with commonly suggested ideas like "add bridges" will be moderated.
