And coniferous forests.
In packs, that hunt and rove, using move combat and hamstring to slow people while attacking them from behind..and..and..
Wolves could be tameable, to get a dog. Dogs could be used as AI animals which would auto agro (& attack) people leaving scents on your property.
For more dev resources that won't be invested, you could train dogs in one of three roles (Shepherd dog, Guard dog and Scent dog). Scent dog could track scents without using charges (as often), or just bred for high Per, could also potentially "prospect" for animals at some range based on their Per. Guard dogs would work as above, vs. stealth of target to auto agro, and might also bark when non-kinned people come by (and auto-agro them, etc.). Shepherd dogs under direction could herd non-aggressive herds (Deer, Mouflon, Aurochs), this might be best implemented by telling the dog to herd, the selecting a tile from which the dog would "push" herd animals towards you. Rinse, lather, repeat to herd animals. A Shepherd dog might also have an ability if set to "watch" some herd animals that would prevent them from despawning. Could even allow training for dogs allowing them to gain skills (like UA and Exploration) via some mechanic (build a kennel, slot food for dog which acts as a curio (for dogs only) then "train" them to spend their accumulated lp). Advanced training/breeding to breed genetic traits (sliders for dogs). and on and on ...
I feel like this has been suggested before 8).
But it would be nice! If only we could have nice things...
