Reverse claims

Postby theTrav » Thu Jun 25, 2009 4:02 am

I've noticed a few people complaining that village claims block off local traffic.

One way of addressing this would be allowing the lawspeaker to place 'reverse claims' which effectively designate space as public zones (no trespassing scents, no theft scents)

Make them only placeable within the village the lawspeaker is a member of and allow them to border with but not overlap private claims.

Alternatively people could just build highways AROUND their village claims, but that'll be tough while the dev's haven't really settled on the mechanic they're using for claim size

I think this could be done if there was an option to select what tiles were public, and what tiles were village. Since using rectangles would be bad since a road isnt always straight, selecting tiles would probably be the best option.

how about having an option of having a sort of stepping stone that can be placed by all (or perhaps just the lawspeaker) of a village. and then just like a claim can be expanded in directions with LP (or no lp) To negate claims (taking ownership into acount ofcourse, so only the person who made/activated the steppingstone can negate parts of her own claim)

edit:

I can see people placing such floor tile objects to make a nice patern, or perhaps even place them as roadguides

A few stones and a dream to make perhaps
