With great power comes...

Postby Chakravanti » Fri Dec 03, 2010 2:49 pm

...a great pain in the fucking ass.

Seriously, I'm so sick of being given chief or LS of a village just because I end up the most active, but if I don't have it I end up not being able to do shit waiting on someone with the roles who invariably cycles through levels of dis/enchantment in particular due to the excessive level of responsibility to preform actions. We could use a few more roles that can preform village management functions.
Well what is this that I can't see
With ice cold hands takin' hold of me
Well I am death, none can excel

While I agree with your general statement, your particular problem can be solved by making a chief account an inner circle has access to.

That solves the problem, but this shouldn't be necessary. There should simply be more and different functions.

Just pulling some stuff out of my ass here, these are completely hypthetical and are not per sé useful, but probably...fun?

-'Chief Farmer'~Farmiong stat boost
-'War-leader'~ Can also summon Hirdsmen & could utilise other 'war' functions when jorb & loftar implement them.
-'Village Priest' ~Can recruit new villagers
-'Colonist'~Can expand village claim
...
yes, they suck =P

Actually building authority objects is one of those shitty jobs I'd want everyone to be able to do...

While we're at it reduce the damn cost of banners it's ridonqulous...

Well, cost is nice as it is. What`s for possibility of building authority objects, I guess, it must more be kind of option set at idol which allows the certain color people to do something.

And for the love of Xenu add in Jackard's suggestion, so we can set as many goddamn chieftains as we want.

I suggest the following:

We Keep the Lawspeaker and Chieftain Positions, and give the Lawspeaker an additional ability: Make Thing or Make Ealdorman.

They then would be able to set, by individual ealdorman/thing, one of five permissions to a binary state at the village idol.

Administer Oath
Exile (All but Lawspeaker/Chief)
Revoke the privilege
Build Authority Object
Remove Authority Object

This way they could not only pick out additional leadership, but determine what each one, on an individual basis, can do.

We also give the Chieftain an additional ability:

Make Reeve:
They would be granted the ability to set, also at the Idol, the following permissions to a binary state, per Reeve:

Make Hirdsman
Strip Hirdsman
Summon Hirdsman
Rouse the Rabble

Just a thought.
