Ideas fo new weapons

Hi all,

Here is a new set of my ideas for weapons, so fell free to comment, and i did search but not found,

pole weapons:
- wooden spear - first melee made from 3 block of wood - 3x2 space - good vs animals, higher chance of attack
- metal spear - wooden spear + metal top - better vs animals, but good vs players, bonus to defence
- halberd - 3 blocks of wood + metal top - could be also used as a normal stone axe

metal weapons
- metal mace - block of wood + metal top / or only metal, bonus chance while attacking to destroy armor
- flail - wood + metal the same as above
- machete - increase movement speed in thicket
- hunters knife - increase quality of skinning hide from animal

Ranged weapon
- crossbow for bolt -
- crossbow for stones
- throwing knife

missile ammo
-glass balls for sling and crossbow

and thats all :)

WHat do you mean.. higher chance of attack?

No, I only approve crossbows.
Same speed or slower than ranger's bow, base damage 500 (or more), materials needed: 2x Steel bar, 1x board, 4x metal nuggets.
Fires bolts that can made from: 1x metal nugget + 1x branch.
Bolts can be stored in a bag that can be equip in belt slot.
Also ignores 10-20% of enemy armor. We all know crossbows had highest armor penetration of all ranged weapons. :)

1.) I think you have to get a better idea of how the combat system works before posting weapon ideas. "Better vs. animals, but good vs. players" isn't really feasible to describe the game mechanics behind the weapon. Same goes for most of your other descriptions making it very unclear how your ideas would be implemented into the actual game.

2.) It isn't exactly certain wether combat will get an overhaul or not. But it probably will at one point or another which is why the devs have been holding back on implementing new weapons into the game. The effect of a broader variety of weapons should be different combat styles, one countering the other, the viability of army tactics etc. etc. So it isn't exactly trivial to implement weapons. Just another kind of sword that looks like a spear doesn't really cut it.

i like the idea of the crosbow's but its needing an reloading speed (got one by my selfe) when i reload it takes me 4 min to reload it maby how higher you mm skill how faster you reload?

i still like the idea of glass bals for slings :!:
maby er could be an puch for it or something?

Build a drop tower for making lead shot, for sling ammo.

(sorry for posting in this thread, but I love drop towers)
