Mining would drop q10 stone, but would give us the option for house expansion in a whole new way.
You could perhaps put a size restriction on the tiles you're able to mine out, or even have it scale very quickly based on your str. The farther out you go, the harder it will be to mine until it reaches the tens of thousands fairly quickly so as to avoid people making massive storage areas under 10x10 vaults.

And you'd need to build supports too, otherwise the house falls in and insta death to anyone inside.
