we could always use both, hey? Have multiple pieces of armor with identical stats, made from same materials, but one version would be the rustic, dark, iron age or dark age style and the other would be the bright, shiny, destrier-in-barding and banners and trumpets middle age style.

lol, surely you jest? It takes all my artistic abilities just to decide which smiley-face to use when i make a wise-ass comment here . . . i'm having a suprisingly hard time finding pictures of iron age armor and weapons online... but what i picture in my head is more dark, earthy, lots of leather and furs, the typical image of the viking warrior. It would be a fun counterpoint to the polished, shiny disney-style knight. Even if both images are anachronistic (and largely mythical)
