Claims really need to have some kind of authority requirement. The bigger the claim, the more authority. Everything we do should be reclaimed by nature eventually if we leave it..

I've noticed that most of the Q spots in my grid are covered in what can only be described as "fradulent" claims. I do not blame the practice, but there should be some mechanic in place to make it less profitable.

Personal claims should require upkeep just like village claims. In fact, I think the two should be merged somehow, but I haven't come up with a unified claim theory yet.

I'd be mildly saddened if I went on a month's vacation and lost all my stuff :( I'd probably get over it, though. Unless I died. Then I'd be discontented.

Maybe, if a claim runs out of "authority", it should start to drain your unspent LP instead to sustain itself.. that way if you need to leave for a long time, just save up a bunch of LP and you'll be fine for a while.

With how easy it is to train up multiple accounts to Yeomanry+50kLP with the new system (not bashing the system itself, but seriously it's painfully easy to get 5+ guys in a day or two), expect basically every even mediocre resource node to be claimed. Not to mention you can grief the hell out of people by putting 4 claims around theirs as well.

On the other hand, training up vandalism alts will also be easier, so a simple claim won't give as much protection as it used too.

How About This,

If your claim goes 2 weeks without a single person with permissions entering it, your claim looses it's authority.

A claim without authority no longer protects your stuff from decay and does not generates claim related scents. The Claim will still look the same, and you still need Criminal acts turned on along with Trespassing to enter building and open chest, Theft To steal the stuff, and Vandalism to destroy stuff. However these acts will produce no scents and you can not be tracked.

It would be like the old days of world 3 were while wondering the forest you see a small outpost surrounded by palisade that was full of hole and all the buildings that were still standing looked like that would collapse if they decayed any further. You would sit at the entrance to one of the run down shacks, wishing that you had Trespassing and Theft, because you know that nobody lives there and nobody would track you down.

Adding authority to personal claim is a better idea.
Especially if they have their own set of condition and functions.

Lower authority cost, and easy to gain authority.
As a possible bonus, authority doesn't decrease (or cost becomes even less) if your character and other "permitted characters" is active and standing in it.

We need a way to indicate when a claim loses it's authority.
Maybe the color can change so it stops being solid and the shades on the inside vanishes, showing only the border.

Or simply make the shade transparent, and making the borders thin and dashed.
