i can't read what you mean.....

now go away and stop ruining thread with pointless crap

Most skills would not exist anymore (or maybe they all could be replaced)

You would no longer need to buy carpentry to see items you can make, you simply need the pre-requested discoveries, but you need to study a saw first to even get the board discovery.

proposed method sounds too awkward and unintuitive. dont want trial and error for mentory. KISS: studying unknown items should discover them and consume the item

agreed with removing skills, ive suggested before that they instead tie abilities to Discoveries and Skill Value ranks. also rename SVs to be more general purpose. Sewing -> Weaving, Carpentry -> Carving, etc.

items should specifically tell you what they do in their tooltips on a separate line

Examples:
Food
Curio
String
Seed
Container
1H/2H Weapon
1H/2H Tool
Equipment Slot - Head Neck Shirt Torso Gloves Waist Ring Robe Pack Pants Legs Cloak Feet

well it might be awkward, but the current system has the same trail and error, as a noob you have no clue what items require to make without looking at the wiki. how are you suppose to know what "fire and ice" gives, or that you need a special skill to use a bow even though you already have the bow and arrow icon from getting hunting. and its not either systems falt, its thier lack of description. they have no description on any of the skills and what they do. but for my suggestions they would just need a tooltip showing that the item unlocks a certain skill.

ya but i wanted most skills to not exist anymore.... so there would be very few that would need unlocking, such as the black skills. the other skills can just be tossed, as there isn't a need for them. Basically the only ones that would need to be unlocked are ones which cause a new adventure icon to appear. so prospecting, mining, fishing stuff like that. you dont need glassmaking or winemaking to be a skill that you buy.
