I'd kill to have every system in the game completely automated so I never have to actually play the game to progress.

Surprisingly I've never threatened newbies with death if they didn't fill my tanning tubs for me before. In hindsight this sounds like a perfectly legitimately option to "automatically" fill them. So probably a lot!

I'd actually prefer if it wasn't completely automated, I'd just like it as an alternative. It may be faster to hand fill a tub with 100l of water but over the course of a few hours it'd be nice if something filled them up for me too. It's just such a clickfest to get any amount of leather and it's Not fun in the least.

PROTIP: You can fill a tanning tub directly from the barrel by holding the barrel over your head and right clicking on the tub. It only saves you half your clicks but it's still a little help.

Hopefully you can understand the logistical problems of this on your own.

isn't this what wells are for? i think they should allow you to use a barrel on a well to fill it instead of having to use a bucket. i mean the well has a bucket in it why do i need to carry one to fill a barrel?

The bucket that the well has is attached to the well... You lower it into the well to get water and then you fill your bucket from that bucket.

Are you suggesting it be possible to simply lower an entire barrel all the way down a well and have it fill up with water?

no lower the bucket and the tip it over into the barrel. if the rope its attached to is long enough to go down in the well why not long enough to pour over the side of the well into the barrel? pick up barrel right click bucket and it auto fills the barrel, you see about 10 animations for the well being used and it adds 10l to the barrel each time and doesn't stop until barrel is full or you move away. It beats making 10 trips to and from barrel and well.

Things would have to be build able on it and passable on/under the aqueducts/canals to prevent hearth-vaultage and griefing with these.
