it would be so much easier to do everything

You want to stack things to make things easier. Well, some games aren't supposed to be easy.

Why do people think that an annoying UI is good gameplay because it makes the game "harder"? That is so stupid. The inventory system is so 1990 in HnH and needs a fix, stacking would only be a first step imo.

That said Loftar seems to have some ideas on this including a new fluid system once they start working on HnH again.

Fixing a semi-broken mechanic is not making the game easier. Stop acting like a veteran when you've played the game for a month.

Depending on how it is implemented, yes, it could have little to no impact on how "easy" this game is. It could even make the game much more difficult; for example, if rocks were given more "weight" than other items in general, leaving your walls with only a sling for defence becomes far more dangerous. This is NOT, however, what the OP desires. He desires a system like in MeinKraft, where you can hold up to 64 of almost any item per inventory slot, regardless of how heavy that item would logically be. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he seems to desire not only ease of use, but an easier game. His other suggestions include animals that adjust their level based on the "level" of the hearthling in combat with them (thus allowing freshly spawned characters to slay bears), and achievements.

I'm not saying that the system shouldn't be worked on, I'm saying that making the game easier is the WRONG reason to make any alterations. There is a difference between an easier interface, and an easier game. At least, that's my opinion. And despite what you may say, I do have a right to hold an opinion.

Stop acting like a veteran when you've played the game for a month.

How am I acting like a veteran? I'm merely stating that this game isn't designed to be easy. Were that the case, there wouldn't be permadeath, or bears and boars in the wilderness scattered amongst the newbies, or even PvP itself. Hell, my hearthling doesn't even wear pants. Of course I'm not a vet. Did any part of my post insinuate that I was a veteran? If there was some point where that was implied, I'm having a hard time finding it.

Furthermore, I recommend that you review your calendar. There is, in fact, almost three months between November 11th* and today's date. Knowing the correct placement of the various months in the Gregorian calendar is pretty important to survival in the real world.

*Interestingly, according to this website, my first character was created on October 29, 2011, at 19:25. Yet, my account is shown to have been made almost two weeks afterwards.

When did he mention that he wanted it to be exactly like Minecraft? As far as I see it, he merely mentioned Minecraft to give others an idea of what he meant. Making everything stack to a specific amount would indeed be wierd, but making certain items, like resources, stack wouldn't make the game easier, difficulty wise. I cannot see how you associate these two things.

I don't mind some items stacking like feathers, seeds, leaves...but there has to be limits. I always found it silly 1 feather took up a whole inventory slot.

i agree with burg, i've seen exactly the same in a few ideas threads recently, people dismissing ideas on things that would make the game easier, or perhaps not even easier, just less repugnant to use, because they're busy wanting to seem hardcore and part of an elite society, i would love inventory stacking. In a limited capacity of course, no stacking pumpkins, but as someone else said, feathers... really... feathers being as space consuming as enough metal ore to make an ingot, it could be argued that this is just a problem that a tonne of games have, retarded stacking systems, but since the actual number of items that i can think would stack is fairly small.

Making items like clay stack might deduct somewhat from it's "value" in terms of difficulty to obtain, but really if it stacked all it would really achieve is making you spend less time no braining by the side of a river filling LCs with clay to power some far off brick factory, because that's so "hardcore" right?
Oh boy, here I go cheesemaking again...

Not true. The game does fine remembering different quality stones stored in a sign. It can remember quality of stacks.
