Salt ok, but it's already suggested in the other thread I linked to, so I didn't want to repeat it.

I suggested woolen cloths, read throughly before commenting...
Why do the dyes have to be fresh ? I always thought dye could last a long time, perhaps even change colour if left in storage for a long time.
For dying you usually use fresh herbs because they often lose their properties when dried. Of course it depends on a herb and color you want to acquire, sometimes you use dried, but I just simplified it. Generally this whole idea of herbalism is obviously simplified.
Also along with herbalism comes the ability to create poisons, rather just mixing remedies why not the option to create weak poisons with different effects (you can use them by adding it to your weapon) and perhaps some poisons used for hunting will spoil the meat.
Yeh, I was thinking about it, but I don't know much about making poisons (I'm still just a witch it training) so I can't suggest much in this matter. I mentioned some poisonous herbs though.
EDIT- Also perhaps healing potions (whatever you want to call them) heal over a slow amount of time.
EDIT 2 -
heal over a slow amount of time.
i meant slowly heal over a large amount of time <.<
I think gauze works like this.
