DO this and you will have nubs begging and crying to add whatever feature is on the test server onto the main server already. Not saying it's a bad a idea. just that this is what will happen.

hmm a separate test server, that would be cool... you could mess around with balance and stuff there, fine tune things, etc etc

I don't have a problem with this being the test server. And I doubt we have enough players for two servers.

To explain this once again.
When the server goes down, it is due to a bug of some kind, something that causes the game to do something unexpected and causes a crash.
If it was due to the server "not being good enough" it would be a slow bogging crash instead of a sudden one.
I've only seen the server bog to death when tons of players join at once like the recruitment drive, or when we got all the goons to macro pressing buy so we could dupe.
